Condominiums on Bay Street. When I bought my UV filter on eBay a few months ago, I tried out the Fluoro and Polarizing filters that came with it. I wasn't too impressed with the polarizer at first, just because it didn't seem very effective due to the small lens diameter on the coolpix. My polarizer for my Maxxum can practically see through walls, whereas this one barely affected window reflections. Well, that's what happens when you buy a three filter set for $20 on eBay I guess. So I popped on the UV, and promptly put the other two away and forgot about them.

I was grabbing my cellphone the other day on my way to work, and I found the other filters. So I decided to give the polarizer another chance -- and damn if it ain't the most fun I've had with my coolpix for quite some time. Where it lacks in reflection-busting, it sure makes up for it in the dramatic sky department. Screw the loss of a stop, I think I might just keep it on all the time now... Well, maybe not. But it's definately always going to be near-by.

ISO 100, F6.7 - 1/243.1, Spot Metered off the sky, 7.85mm focal length (38mm equiv). Polarizing filter on-camera. In Post: Some levels to further enhance the sky, and a gaussian blur layer set to 50% opacity to soften things up, and hide noise.
