Update: This shot got the Photo Friday noteworthy vote -- cool! I'm really thrilled people are digging my shots, and grateful to everyone who voted. While you're here, why not take the time to
add me to your favourites over at photoblogs.org? Cheers!
Photo Friday time again, and another cigarette break to find a shot for the theme. Although I must admit I took a couple of liberties this time:
1. This isn't one of my usual haunts. It's out back across the street at the TD towers.
2. I smoked two cigarettes.
This was a strange moment of "emptiness" considering I shot this at 5pm on a Friday. This courtyard is always flowing with people at the end of the day -- escaping their cubicles and bolting for their trains. Today of course was no exception, although you wouldn't be able to tell it by looking at this photo. It was like everyone suddenly dissapeared for an instant to let me take the shot. In fact, it was as if the entire city had been emptied of its population except for myself -- just for that one split second. And perhaps for that fleeting moment, I even dissapeared myself.
Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass.
After all, if I really wanted to experience total emptiness, I could have just logged in to my online banking.
Shot in colour, background converted to black and white in photoshop.
