Shot with my Holga and posted on 2004-01-07

The Allen Lambert Galleria is gorgeous. My last shot doesn't really give you an idea of just how much natural light comes in through the massive glass roof. After all, any time you can shoot (in what is technically) indoors at 4pm with a Holga, you know there's gotta be a lot of available light around.

The BCE Place Website unfortunately makes this architectural wonder sound rather mundane: "the Galleria is a six-storey, glass covered, climate controlled thoroughfare from Bay to Yonge Street. It is 85 feet high, 45 feet wide, and 380 feet long". Thanks Ben! Snore.

Wow - you've been busy in January already but of all the shots you posted this is by far my favorite. It's like a modern cathedral of some kind and, although I'm not a fan of Holgas, it works really well in your hands and in this shot especially. Great stuff.

Thanks Martin. This is one of my faves so far this year too. But you're really giving me too much credit -- it's such a great structure, it's almost impossible to not get a gorgeous shot -- no matter what camera you use. ;)

A modest photographer blames himself when a shot doesn't come out and the camera when one does.

You're being too modest. This is a great choice of POV and there's fantastic contrast and detail. It may be a good subject but it's a great shot.

Anyone know where I can find more information?

I've been looking at various holga shots today because I'm going to pick up my first Holga in a couple of hours, and this is by far the best I've seen, in fact I think it's one of the best images I've seen on a photoblog anywhere. Thanks.
